GILBERT, Ariz. — Jazmin Petrantonio, sophomore midfielder/forward from Shippensburg University, has been named the 2018 Longstreth/NFHCA Division II National Player of the Year.

Yesterday, Petrantonio was named the 2018 Longstreth/NFHCA Division II Atlantic Region Player of the Year — her second year with the title — after her exceptional season with the 2018 Division II National Champion, Shippensburg University. Earlier this week she was named to the Longstreth/NFHCA Division II All-American First Team and was also named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Field Hockey Athlete of the Year in November.

Petrantonio finished her sophomore season leading the Raiders in goals (28) and points (62) — she was named to the 2018 NCAA Division II Championship All-Tournament Team and was named to the All-PSAC First Team. In her second year representing the Raiders, Petrantonio helped her team stay in the top five of the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll throughout the season and was an integral part of Ship's run to the PSAC Championship game.

Petrantonio scored five goals and had one assist in three NCAA postseason games — including all four goals in a 4-0 semifinal win over West Chester University that tied the NCAA Tournament single-game record. Through six career NCAA playoff games, Petrantonio has set the all-time career goals record in the NCAA Division II Tournament with nine to her credit. Since joining the Shippensburg program, Petrantonio has been a part of two NCAA Division II National Championships.
