With more than 60 Clubs participating in three age divisions, U-14, U-16 and U-19 representing five regions, the 2019 Junior Premier Outdoor League (JPOL) got off to a great start on a beautiful April spring weekend.

As a USA Field Hockey Sanctioned Event, JPOL is run under the umbrella of Junior Premier Hockey (JPH) that was created by Nigel Traverso and Rachael Bloemker in 2011. Its objective is to organize and run a competitive outdoor league in each region across the United States, whereby youth clubs and their membership have the opportunity to compete against each other on a regular basis.

This league is played annually during the spring months starting in April with the championships held on the first full weekend in June. Participation is open to all USA Field Hockey member youth clubs and all are encourage to participate in any age division being offered, U-14, U-16 and U-19.

JPOL continues to work with clubs in all regions interested in participating in their JPH events. They continue to offer opportunities in Region 1-4 Northeast/New York/Canada, as well as the other listed regions. With tremendous interest and support, JPH also hosts a U-14 League that brings clubs from Regions 3 to 7 to compete over six competition dates. In addition to the U-14 League, Region 8 will again support its own U-14 Division, competing over two full weekends at River City, Richmond, Va. with a championship weekend that will be held at the Regional Training Center in Virginia Beach, Va. on June 1-2.
