Application Period Open for Club Advisory Panel

March 13, 2018, 11:59 a.m. (ET)

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - March 13, 2018 -  USA Field Hockey is excited to announce a restructure and open application period for positions on the Club Advisory Panel, formerly known as the Club Advisory Task Force. The purpose of this restructure is to revitalize and retool the task force to help USA Field Hockey collect and analyze insight from our club constituents to continue to provide a better voice in our organization’s key processes, procedures and programs. USA Field Hockey's goal is to utilize the Club Advisory Panel to gain detailed feedback and create action plans, as recommended by the Club Advisory Panel’s Representatives, who will be representing each region. This will be done by tasking appointed representatives to help administer the collection of surveys within their region and participate in an evaluation period. Additionally, representatives will help propose action plan processes that not only helps represent their regions, but assist USA Field Hockey in shaping and evaluating how information can be utilized to better the processes, procedures and programs for all constituents across the country.

“We believe representation from each region is crucial for getting a well-rounded consensus and help promote growth and cohesiveness in USA Field Hockey,” stated Madeline Hoeppner, USA Field Hockey's Senior Events and Club Services Coordinator. “Currently, Club Advisory members are not required to get/give feedback from their region, and are not required to attend meetings. As we understand that this is solely a voluntary position, we believe that if we give the panel more structure and responsibility we will get a better look into our members and what clubs want.”

The requirements to be a member of the panel are the following: you must be a current club member, have an active USA Field Hockey Membership and must be able to commit to three out of four meetings per year. USA Field Hockey will select at least one representative per region, who will serve a two-year term. Starting today, Tuesday, March 13, 2018, USA Field Hockey will be accepting applications from club administrators interested in serving on the Club Advisory Panel.

To apply, club members must include the following information in their application: applicant's full name, club name, number of years operating club, number of years playing/coaching or umpiring hockey. Applicants must also include brief essay response to the following question:

“How do you plan to help USA Field Hockey grow the sport during the next two years?”

If interested, please send applications to Madeline Hoeppner, USA Field Hockey's Senior Events and Club Services Coordinator, at, using the subject line “Club Advisory Panel Application.”

Deadline for applications isTuesday, March 27, 2018 at 12 p.m. ET. The first scheduled meeting for the 2018 year is set for Thursday, March 29, 2018. Newly appointed representatives will be highly encouraged to join an introductory meeting where new processes, procedures and expectations of representatives will be reviewed, as well as shape the meeting calendar for the 2018 year. Following the meeting, attendance will be mandatory for all new members in accordance to the attendance minimums set forth.
