Jan. 02, 2018, 5:50 p.m. (ET)

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - January 2, 2018 USA Field Hockey is pleased to announce that Dr. Jamie Robbins, Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) and Youth Development Consultant for USA Field Hockey, will be presenting in the Coach Education track at the inaugural USA Field Hockey Summit, presented by AstroTurf, in Baltimore, Md. Dr. Robbins will cover the topic We’re Not There Yet! See Team as Work in Progress, where she will explore useful and harmful thoughts that keep athletes, teams and coaches looking back, rather than looking ahead. Most importantly, this session aims to help coaches identify the strengths and weaknesses of their own thoughts and create a plan for improving their thoughts to stimulate positive behavior change moving forward.

Dr. Jamie Robbins
Certified Mental Performance Consultant and Youth Development Consultant for USA Field Hockey

Dr.  Robbins completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Michigan, and Master’s and Ph.D. in sport psychology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and Michigan State respectively. Her life as an athlete led to her educational focus on sport psychology. She is privileged now to disseminate what she knows and continues her journey to learn more as an Associate Professor at Methodist University, a researcher, a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) for individual athletes, teams and coaches, and a youth development consultant for USA Field Hockey. In all of these roles, her goals are simple: (a) teach individuals how to use their mind to help rather than hurt their performance, and (b) keep learning and growing each day so she has more to offer others.
