LANCASTER, Pa. - December 22, 2017 - With the first weekend of National Indoor Tournament Qualifiers (NITQ) concluded, USA Field Hockey would like to communicate the general guidelines and procedures around wave assignments for the U-16 and U-19 National Indoor Tournament (NIT), presented by YOLO Sportswear.
Each age division at the NIT has a scheduling format that is broken into waves. These waves have an estimated first game start and last game end time and are assigned by the finishing placement equivalent out of each NITQ across the country. This wave system is implemented not only to create a consistent tournament experience for each team, but to also help U-16 and U-19 teams plan for travel and necessary accommodations as early as possible upon their qualification to the NIT. All clubs must note that the final placements listed beside each wave assignment are highly likely (but not guaranteed) to be assigned to the corresponding wave number. Please note that teams placing 4th, 5th or 6th out of the NITQs may be assigned to either Wave 1 or Wave 2 as this is where the cut in the wave system exists. This information should be useful for a majority of teams when making housing arrangements. Please note all wave assignments are subject to change.

The U-16 Girls NIT will take place from March 2-4, 2018 at Spooky Nook Sports in Lancaster, Pa. The U-19 Girls NIT will be hosted on February 23-25, 2018 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center in Richmond, Va.
