Day Three at Disney Concludes

ORLANDO, FLORIDA – Today concluded day three of Disney’s Field Hockey Showcase at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida. From 144 teams that started this tournament on Thursday, only 48 are moving on to the final round of play on Sunday.

From the 48 teams, the top four Under-19 teams and two Under-16 teams will receive medals. Only one from each division will be declared the 2011 Disney’s Field Hockey Showcase Champion.

“The competition has been high today, and we expect to see even bigger competition tomorrow.” said Karen Collins, Director or Events and Logistics. “The teams have been whittled down to one third of what we started with and by tomorrow we will announce one team in each division an overall champion. Expect the matches to be intense and exciting. ”
