Buenos Aires, Argentina - The US U-19 Men's team started a series of 5 games in 7 days played at CeNard (National Training Center). The first match of the tour was a fast pace counter-attack hockey match against Argentina, Argentina won the match 4-0 and lead at halftime 1-0. Argentina, known for their counter-attack offense, capitalized in the 7th minute on a poor executed USA outlet which lead to an Argentina tip-in goal. USA fought back and earned their first penalty corner of the match in the 22nd minute. USA Johnny Orozco drag flick shot was saved as Liam Walsh rebounded and found a centering pass to Ranveer Kundi who could not equalize. Kundi lead the team with his ball possession and mid-field skills while Orozco had a solid defensive game. USA only had two penalty corners to Argentina's nine. USA corner defense held strong until the 40th minute when Argentina scored the second goal of the game on a penalty corner rebound after a Brandon Karess save. USA continued to fight as they pushed forward but Argentina was able to show their counter-attack style combined with USA defensive errors to go up 3-0. Late in the game, the USA made another costly error which lead to an own goal in the 68th minute to close out the match 4-0. USA will play Argentina again tomorrow at 6 PM local time.
