MISSION 

The Futures Program is dedicated to developing the top athletes in each region, identifying the most talented athletes in the nation and cultivating the Olympic athletes of tomorrow.

ABOUT

Since its establishment in 1990, the Futures Program has been the start of many field hockey dreams! Now approximately 5,000 athletes who aspire to elevate their field hockey skills to the next level participate in the Futures Program.

The Futures Program is a great opportunity for athletes who want to sharpen their field hockey skills in the off-season, allowing them to work toward their dream to play at a higher level. Athletes will train at a Futures site in their region for seven, 3-hour training sessions during the months of January through April. They will then have the opportunity to participate and be selected for their Regional Futures Tournament (RFT) to the National Futures Championship.

GIRLS JOINING FUTURES

Girls that are middle and high school age can join the Futures Program through an individual trial or a USA Field Hockey Partner Camp. For more information visit the Futures Trials page. 

Athletes under age eleven can be admitted by recommendation into the Futures Program. Contact your Regional Development Manager to be recommended.

BOYS JOINING FUTURES

Boys that are middle and high school aged must register as interested in the Futures Program. They will then be invited to a Futures site in their region and will train for seve, 3-hour training sessions* during the months of January through April. Boys will then have the opportunity to particiate and be selected from their Regional Futures Tournament* to regional high-performance centers and the Men's Talent Identification Camp in July.

The deadline to sign-up as interested in the 2018 Futures Program has been extended until Thursday, November 30 at 11:45 p.m. MT.

*Boys and girls will be mixed during the training sessions and Regional Futures Tournament. 

INVITES TO THE 2018 FUTURES PROGRAM

Invites to previous years' participants will be sent no later than Monday, October 30, 2017. Invites to new participants (Trial, Partner Camp & Boys athletes) will be sent no later than Thursday, November 30, 2017.

*The registration deadline for the 2018 Futures Program is Friday, December 29, 2017 (after this date a late fee of $100 will be added to the registration).

SELECTION OPPORTUNITIES

Once a part of USA Field Hockey's Futures Program, athletes will have the opportunity to be selected to various other programs and camps that will continue to develop and enhance their skill level with the goal of developing collegiate all-stars and future National Team athletes.
