QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
Qualification by Participating in a Regional Club Championship
The total number of teams that qualify from a Regional Club Championship (RCC) to the National Club Championship (NCC) is dependent of the overall number of teams participating in each age division within a RCC. Please see a breakdown of the requirements below:
- 4-6 Participants = RCC qualifies 1 total team to the NCC
- 7-16 Participants = RCC qualifies 2 total teams to the NCC
- 17+ Participants = RCC qualifies 3 total teams to the NCC
Qualification Without Participation in a Regional Club Championship
Should a region not be able to hold a Regional Club Championship due to lack of participation, meaning less than the minimum of 4 teams registered to compete in a given age division, the region will be eligible to receive one (1) At Large bid to the National Club Championship for the age division in which it was unable to hold an RCC. A region's eligibility to receive an At Large bid will be determined by the following criteria:
- The region must have submitted a bid to host AND have been awarded an RCC for the age division it was unable to hold competition in
- The region must have one club ranked in the top 16 within the USA Field Hockey National Club Rankings for the age division it was unable to hold competition in
- At least one club ranked in the top 16 must have registered with the intention to participate in the RCC should the competition have been held
If ALL of the criteria listed above have been met for the respective age division, one (1) At Large bid will be awarded to the highest ranked team in the region, according to the USA Field Hockey National Club Rankings for the age division in which the RCC could not be held.
