U-19 Competition Format

  • 48 total teams make up this age division.

  • All teams will begin in pools of four.

  • Teams will initially play three pool play games on Day 1 and the first half of Day 2.

  • After pool play, teams will be reseeded by finishing pool placement standings across all pools.
    • Reseeding Process:
      • Teams will be placed into three flights based upon final pool play results and final standings.
        • Teams will be ordered by highest and lowest seeded teams 1st - 48th

        • Teams will be ordered 1st - 48th by finishing place in their respective pools and then by highest amount of points accumulated through wins, ties and losses. USA Field Hockey’s tie breaker procedures will be used to determine standings in event of a tie by points received off wins, ties and losses. The tie breaker order is as follows:
          • Points off Wins, Ties, Losses in pool play
          • Matches Won
          • Goal Differential
          • Goals For
          • Coin Toss

        • Belle Flight will be comprised of the 1st - 8th placed teams after pool play and reseeding is concluded. This will be the “Championship” Flight and will consist of the top teams in the U-16 Girls Age Division.

      • Rapunzel Flight will be comprised of the 9th - 16th placed teams after pool play and reseeding is concluded.

      • Tiana Flight will be comprised of the 17th - 24th placed teams after pool play and reseeding is concluded.

      • Merida Flight will be comprised of the 25th – 32nd placed teams after pool play and reseeding is concluded.

      • Snow White Flight will be comprised of the 33rd - 40th placed teams after pool play and reseeding is concluded.

      • Aurora Flight will be comprised of the 41st - 48th placed teams after pool play and reseeding is concluded.

  • Participants that advanced into the Belle, Rapunzel, Tiana, Merida, Snow White, and Aurora Flights will be in a Quarterfinal round.
    • Winners of the Belle, Rapunzel, Tiana, Merida, Snow White, and Aurora Quarterfinal Rounds will advance to the Semifinal Rounds.

    • Losers of the Belle, Rapunzel, Tiana, Merida, Snow White, and Aurora Quarterfinal Rounds will advance to the Consolation Friendly Games.
      • These teams will play one game on Sunday and finish with a total of five games.

    • Winners of the Belle, Rapunzel, Tiana, Merida, Snow White, and Aurora Semifinal Rounds will play in a Final Round for 1st and 2nd place within their Flights.
      • These teams are done after playing two games on Sunday with a total of six games.

    • Losers of all Semifinal Rounds will play in a Final Round for 3rd and 4th place within their Flights.
      • These teams are done after playing two games on Sunday with a total of six games.
