Mission Viejo Diving Team

 

The Mission Viejo Nadadores, a 501(c) 3 charitable organization, is seeking a Head Coach to support our mission and guide the development of our team of 200+ divers from novice to elite. Our facility is outdoors in Southern California. Candidate will answer to the Executive Director and be responsible for overall team management, including training programs, recruitment, schedules, supervising coaches, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and conducting staff meetings, as well as other functions. The ultimate candidate must demonstrate the ability to foster a training and competition environment that is safe, diverse, inclusive, equitable and non-discriminatory for athletes and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • • Undergraduate degree from accredited university
  • • Minimum of 10 years of coaching at the USA Diving national level
  • • Advanced understanding of NCAA diving and recruiting practices and rules
  • • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
  • • Proficient in using Microsoft office applications (email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • • Member in good standing with USA Diving Full Coach Membership
  • • Strong knowledge of Safe Sport policies and reporting procedures
  • • First Aid, Lifeguard and CPR certified
  • • Independently perform all assigned duties of coaching a nationally competitive USA Diving program, including: ▪ thorough knowledge of the sport
  • ▪ coaching strategies
  • ▪ skills development
  • USA Diving rules and regulations from Future Champions, to Senior Diving
  • ▪ pull belts (preferred)

Work Conditions, Environment & Physical Requirements:

Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels, outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height; and to bend, to stoop, to sit on the floor, to climb stairs, to walk and to reach overhead. Duties are normally performed outdoors on the Marguerite Aquatic Center premises. Duties may be occasionally performed outside of this environment during away competitions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Dive Coaches - Support Staff - High Performance Director

Carolina Diving Academy – Pre-Team Coach

 

Position will report to CDA Head Coach/ Program Director and is responsible for managing and coaching Pre-Team level divers within the greater CDA program, including:

  • Coaching 13-Under and 14-Older Pre-Team and Accelerated Lessons groups

  • Parent communication

  • Registration/ roster management

  • Daily planning

  • Program promotion and retention

  • Assisting with other training groups as necessary

In addition, the position will be expected to contribute to various operations support activities including but not limited to:

  • Coaching at USA Championship series meets

  • Meet management/hosting

  • Equipment maintenance

  • Retention efforts

  • Traditional/social media marketing

  • Records management

  • Program communications

  • Strategic planning

  • Volunteer coordination

 

Required qualifications
Applicant must have strong organization and communication skills, including familiarity with MS and Google suite of applications..

Experience diving at the collegiate level

Lessons/ Country Club level coaching

Current USA Diving and AAU certifications and memberships.

 

Preferred Qualifications

B.A. recipients are given preference. Degrees in Kinesiology or related fields are a plus.
Three or more years coaching Lessons level divers and beyond.

Belt spotting on all diving apparatus.

Experience working and communicating effectively with large, diverse groups of people.

 

Work Environment

This job requires your presence on a pool deck with temperatures greater than 80 degrees, slippery footing, loud ambient noise. You will be expected to report to work even in inclement weather, heat, and humidity.

 

Physical Demands

You must be able to constantly stand/walk for up to 8 hours per day, regularly perform belt spotting involving lifting divers up to 150 lbs with upper body strength, and speak loudly to give instructions in a loud environment.

 

This is a full-time, salaried position. Total compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.

Dive Program Management Opportunity: Montgomery County is uniquely situated between Baltimore and Washington DC and has a population over one million residents. The Aquatic facilities are among the finest on the east coast. Four indoor, seven outdoor with two facilities with 10m, 5m, 3m and springboard  two facilities with  1m and 3m springboards.

 

Montgomery County Recreation is in search of a Contractor to build, operate, and grow the County’s diving programs performing under Montgomery County Diving, a registered USA Diving Club.  The County swim centers are currently operating seven (7) days a week, up to eighteen (18) hours a day. Coaching Opportunity: University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Hilltop Circle, Baltimore, MD, USA

Reporting to the Head Swimming and Diving Coach. Specific duties include:
Designing and structuring workouts; instructing divers on proper technique and competition strategies;
attending all practice times; communicating with all staff and coaches professionally; coaching and
instructing divers at meets throughout the year; entering Divers in meet events; recruiting; Getting CPO
Certified; and performing other duties as assigned.

It is expected that the successful candidate will abide by all written policies and procedures of, the Department of Athletics, UMBC, the America East Conference (AEC), USA Diving and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

In addition to the salary the Diving Coach will be permitted to run a diving club and clinics out of the facility for additional revenue.

Coaching Opportunity: Coach of High Dive Champions Age Group USA Diving Team

 

Head Coach and Assistant Head Coach Positions available.  Coaches will work with Owner & Coach Mike Darland to continue a successful and goal driven program to bring National Team divers to USA Diving Regional, Zone and National Championships. Coaches will travel and coach divers at these meets and other Invitational meets through the year. Coaches will also run practices 6 days per week for divers of all levels including Novice, Intermediate and Advanced/National Team Divers.

 

High Dive Champions has two training facilities:

Purchase College – This is our primary facility located in Westchester County, New York, 35 miles north of New York City. The Purchase College pool has two 1-meter boards & two 3-meter boards with a trampoline with spotting rig on deck. There is also a dry-board and port-a-pit on deck. Five additional trampolines with a spotting rig are available outside and utilized when weather permits. 

Nassau County Aquatic Center – We train at this facility for platform on a bi-weekly basis. This facility has a full platform stack – 1, 3, 5, 7.5 and 10-meter.
