COM Aquatics - Dive Coach (Posted 10/9/19)

COM is a privately held non-profit aquatic sports facility, housing an indoor diving facility, a 50M Olympic swimming pool, 2 competition pools, physical therapy clinic and gym located in Midland, Texas.

COM’s diving facility includes 1M, 3M, 5M, 7M and 10M platforms, four 1M and 3M springboards, a bubbler system and water belts over the springboards and 5M Platform; a dedicated dry-land gym for our divers with trampolines, dry boards, and belts. Our club diving team currently trains over 140 divers each month, ranging in age from 4 – 18 and an adult diving team. Our team won its USA Diving Regionals and Zones and finished 9th as a team at USA Diving Nationals.

In order to facilitate program growth, we are looking to grow our coaching staff, and have an immediate opening for a permanent full time coach.

COM coaches assist with all aspects of operating a club diving program including: 

- Daily practices

- Coaching at meets 

- Meet management/assistance 

- Parent communication 

- Administrative duties

Desired qualifications: 

- Coaching & judging experience at the JO level or above  

- Ability to relate and work well with divers of all ages and levels, parents and staff

- USA Diving/AAU certification, lifeguard certification, CPR – (within 30 days of hire date)

Job Description 

Cal Poly Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Diving Coach for the Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving programs. The Assistant Coach is responsible for creating a team that competes successfully at the national level both athletically and academically. The position assists with overall supervision, organization, development and implementation of a nationally competitive intercollegiate diving program. This would include recruiting, coaching, scouting opponents, budgetary management, home event management, coordinating team travel, camp coordination, compliance with NCAA, MPSF and institutional rules, and a commitment to academic development of student-athletes.

Boston University - Assistant Coach, Men’s & Women’s Diving (Posted 9/6/19)

Job Description

Assist the head coach of men’s and women’s swimming and diving as assigned, responsible for helping to coach the divers and operate a successful program to provide the athletes with a first-class experience.  Knowledge and ability to run training and practice for 1 and 3-Meter, including a dry-land conditioning program.  Recruiting for the diving program and travel administration for the divers are also included in responsibilities. 

  • Achieve a high level of competency in sport skill instruction, motivation, and conduct of practice sessions under the direction of the Head Coach
  • Teach and prepare the athletes in organized practices and coach them to succeed during competition; travel required
  • Serve as an educator and mentor for students in the program by caring for their well-being physically, mentally, academically, and socially, as well as athletically
  • Recruit and retain students to the program who can succeed academically and athletically at Boston University
  • Achieve competitive results that demonstrate athletic excellence
  • Manage operational aspects of the program as assigned by the head coach
  • Demonstrate excellent writing, speaking and listening abilities
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable university, Patriot League and NCAA rules and regulations

Required Skills

Bachelors degree required. 5 or more years diving coaching experience necessary. Collegiate coaching experience strongly preferred. Part-time position.
