The Nominating and Elections Committee has announced the results of the election for USA Diving’s Athletes’ Advisory Council.
Ten athletes were elected, bringing the total number of athletes on the council to 12. The council includes six men and six women.
Emily Bretscher, Brittany Viola Gonzalez, Sophie McAfee and Carolina Sculti were elected and will join Olivia Rosendahl and Lauren Reedy on the council. Rosendahl and Reedy were elected as diving’s representative and alternate to the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee’s Athletes’ Advisory Council in November and as such were also named to USA Diving’s AAC.
Andrew Capobianco, Joey Cifelli, Mory Gould, Ryan Hawkins, Jack Matthews and Max Showalter were elected on the men’s side.
To serve on the council, an athlete must have finished in the top half of a national championship meet in the previous 24 months or have represented the United States at an Olympic Games, World Championships, Pan American Games or other Operation Gold event in the last 10 years.
