Riley Lee
Riley Lauren Lee, a member of Scouts BSA Troop 514 in Discovery Bay, California, and member of the Golden Gate Area Council in Northern California, completed her Eagle Scout Board of Review on October 23, 2020.

Riley now has the distinguished honor of being a member of Boy Scouts’ Inaugural Class of Female Eagle Scouts in the United States.

From the moment, Boy Scouts of America announced the integration of girls, Riley was eager to join.  For years, she experienced scouting from a distance as she watched her older brother navigate the program. She longed to be afforded the same opportunities, especially the chance to earn scouting’s highest and most prestigious award, the rank of Eagle Scout.  She is a strong, courageous, and determined young woman who seizes every opportunity presented to her. Riley is dedicated to making a difference and aspires to be a role model for young girls by setting an example of independence, strength, and empowerment.

Riley’s Eagle Scout Project, the St. Anne Peace Pole Project, consisted of building and installing 3 Peace Poles on the church’s campus.  The poles represented the Holy Trinity and were placed in locations significant to the congregation.  Each pole read, “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in multiple languages, reflecting the cultural diversity of the St. Anne Parish.  You may learn more about Riley’s project at

In addition to earning Eagle Scout, Riley is an active parishioner at St. Anne Catholic Church and regularly volunteers as an altar server and a greeter.  She is a freshman at St. Mary’s High School in Stockton where she is a member of the JV Woman’s Water Polo team as well as the Varsity Women’s Dive team.  Riley is also a Junior Olympic member of the Delta Valley Dive Club, competing as a USA Diving athlete, and a regular summer attendee of Ripfest Camp.

Congratulations to Riley for this enormous accomplishment.
