USA Diving Features A Letter From Lee

A Letter From Lee

Dec. 15, 2020, 4:06 p.m. (ET)

Good afternoon,

I hope this finds everyone safe and healthy.

As discussed on our town hall meeting on Wednesday, we are faced with the difficult necessity of raising membership fees. I want to emphasize that this decision is not made lightly and is not, in and of itself, the long term solution.  Rather, it was deemed the best method for keeping USA Diving viable and sustainable in the very near term. The process by which this decision was made had at its core the directive to find a way to give USA Diving the best chance of having a successful Olympic year while beginning to explore long term solutions for stability and sustainability. This will be no small task.  We are finalizing options for how to make this as painless as is possible and will have that plan to everyone soon.

I also want to assure everyone that we have not lost sight of the schedule for 2021. COVID related challenges notwithstanding, it is our intention to conduct the full schedule as planned. We will keep everyone updated as developments allow.
As I mentioned in the roundtables and during our town hall, we will be thoroughly examining our business model and the potential for its restructuring during 2021. I want to thank everyone who has come forward with good ideas and offers of support and emphasize that we will get through this together.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at any time with questions or suggestions. My only request is that you have a little patience with us as we are a very small staff and will get back to you as soon as we are able.
Happy holidays and good health to all.
