2019 Zone Championships Qualifying Scores Set

The 2019 Region Championships are in the books, and now the road to Knoxville continues with Zone Championships in June.

As a reminder, junior divers qualify to Zones for springboard events in one of two ways. The top 10 divers in each springboard event who are not prequalified automatically qualify for zones. Then, following the conclusion of all 12 region meets, the following method is used to determine qualifying scores:

“The scores of the 15th diver (or last diver if there are fewer than 15 event entries) in each event from each Region will be averaged and that average will be considered a possible qualifying score. Any region score not within one standard deviation (as per divemeets.com calculation) of the average will be deleted and the average will be recalculated.”

A complete list of Zone qualifiers is available here.

Divers MUST go to the Zone meet that corresponds to their respective region meet (For example, regions 1 & 2 go to Zone A, regions 3 & 4 go to Zone B, etc.).

No qualifying is needed to participate in a platform event at zones; however, please note that if a diver attended a region meet, he or she still must go to the corresponding zone for platform even if the diver did not qualify for zones on a springboard event.
