INDIANAPOLIS – 11 divers have been selected to represent Team USA in next month’s FINA Calgary Grand Prix. Divers were selected based on their performances at the 2018 USA Diving Winter Trials.
Team USA features 2018 Youth Olympic bronze medalist Bridget O’Neil (Southlake, Texas), who competed on behalf of the stars and stripes in the Summer Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018 last fall. O’Neil will be joined by 2018 Junior World Championships teammates Jacob Fielding (Los Angeles, Calif./Columbus, Ohio) and Lyle Yost (Shaker Heights, Ohio).
The Calgary Grand Prix begins Thursday, April 4 (local time) and concludes Sunday, April 7 (local time).
Eight other divers will also compete for Team USA in the Grand Prix. Abigail Knapton (Omaha, Neb./Lincoln, Neb.), Jacob Siler (Knoxville, Tenn./Columbus, Ohio) and Ali Watson (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) will all dive in their first Grand Prix competition. Ben Bramley (Wellesley, Mass./West Lafayette, Ind.) will dive individually in the men’s platform, while Greg Duncan (Oakton, Va./West Lafayette, Ind.) will compete in the men’s 3-meter event. Emma Ivory-Ganja (The Woodlands, Texas/Austin, Texas) will contend in the women’s 3-meter against O’Neil, while Daria Lenz (Altadena, Calif./Stanford, Calif.) and Carolina Sculti (Rye, N.Y./Stanford, Calif.) will dive in the women’s 3-meter synchro.
