Andrew Capobianco (Holly Springs, N.C./Bloomington, Ind.) and 2016 Olympian Katrina Young (Shoreline, Wash./Tallahassee, Fla.) have been selected to represent the United States in the mixed team event at the FINA World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea.

The team event will be held July 16, the fifth day of competition at the Championships.

The team event involves two divers - one male and one female - who will perform three dives apiece. All six groups of dives must be represented, and each diver must perform at least one dive from the 3-meter and one from the 10-meter. Both divers also are required to do one dive with a degree of difficulty of 2.0.

Prior to the team event, Capobianco will compete in the synchronized 3-meter event on July 13 and Young will dive synchronized 10-meter on July 14.

In other World Championships roster news, Maria Coburn (Round Rock, Texas/Tucson, Ariz.) has been selected to dive with Briadam Herrera (Miami, Fla.) in the mixed synchronized 3-meter contest on July 20. Herrera had initially qualified for the mixed synchro event with Lauren Reedy, who opted to compete at the World University Games instead. Coburn and Herrera also will dive in individual 1-meter events on July 12 before diving together in mixed synchro on the final day of the Championships.
