The U.S. won five medals Friday at the Junior Pan American Championships, bringing its two-day total to 12 medals in Santiago, Chile.
All five medals came from group A divers.
Jordan Rzepka (Ohio State Dive Club) scored 499.60 points to win the boys’ group A 1-meter gold, with Tyler Downs (RipFest) taking home bronze with 486.90 points in that same event.
A day after winning silver and bronze on 1-meter, Hailey Hernandez (GC Diving) and Anne Fowler (Alexandria Dive Club) came through with the same results on 3-meter. Hernandez scored 442.55 for the 3-meter silver, while Fowler finished with 440.95 points for bronze.
Sophia McAfee (Trojan Dive Club) and Daryn Wright (Indiana International School of Diving) paired together for 268.32 points and silver in the girls’ synchronized platform contest.
Eight other U.S. divers were in action on Friday.
Lily Witte (Legacy Diving) and Katerina Hoffman (Nebraska Diving Club) were fourth and eighth, respectively, in the group B girls’ 1-meter contest. In group B boy’s platform competition, Carson Tyler (Moss Farms Diving) finished fifth and Luca Fassi (Rose Bowl Aquatics) was eighth.
Avery Giese (Mission Viejo Nadadores) finished sixth in group C girls’ platform, with Lanie Gutch (YCF Diving) placing eighth in that same event.
In group D boys’ competition, Mik Schwickert (Clavadistas del Sol) was eighth and Mitchell Caldwell (American Flyers Diving) was ninth on 1-meter.
