Fowler and Sculti finish third in women's synchronized 3-meter at Canada Cup

CALGARY- On the final day of the FINA Grand Prix Canada Cup in Calgary, Anne Fowler (Burke, Va.) and Carolina Sculti (Rye, N.Y.) took third place in women’s synchronized three-meter Sunday. Max Flory (Fairfax, Va.) and Jordan Rzepka (Solon, Ohio) finished sixth in men’s synchronized platform.

Fowler and Sculti paired together for a total of 255.27 points in women’s 3-meter synchro, bringing the two the bronze medal behind China’s Chen Yiwen and Wu Chunting (306.96 points) and Canada’s Margo Erlam and Ashley McCool (272.58 points). The duo’s most successful dive came in the third round, when they scored 62.37 points on an inward 2 ½ tuck, which gave the two an advantageous lead over Cuba and Germany in the final two rounds .

Flory and Rzepka finished the Canada Cup in sixth place with 324.12 points, just 29.04 points shy of Italy’s Mattia Placidi and Vladimir Barbu, who placed fifth. The duo’s highest score, 65.34, came in the fourth round after competing a backwards 3 ½ tuck. China’s Duan Yu and Yao Zelin taking gold with 455.13 points. Great Britain’s Matthew Dixon and Matthew Williams finished in second, with Canada’s Ethan Pitman and Lauren Gosselin-Paradis just 5.7 behind Great Britain.
