USA Diving Names Vince Panzano as Interim High Performance Director

INDIANAPOLIS – USA Diving announced today that Vince Panzano has been hired as the interim High Performance Director. Panzano will be with the National Governing Body from October through December as USA Diving is slated to have a full-time High Performance Director in place by January 1, 2018. He takes over for Sean McCarthy who filled the role from January-September.

Panzano’s job duties will include oversight and management of the high-performance department that includes the continued development of high performance strategies and maintaining contact with high performance coaches. The four-time Olympic coach will be fully supported by the high-performance department that includes a High Performance Manager, Education Director and Athlete Services Coordinator.

Panzano has coached at four Olympics games, serving on the staff for the Los Angeles 1984 Olympic Games, Seoul 1988 Olympic Games, Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games and London 2012 Olympic Games. Panzano was at the Ohio State University for 35 years, before retiring in 2013. Panzano was also a coach for Team USA at the 2015 World Championships in Kazan and the 2016 World Cup in Rio. In addition, Panzano has served as Coach Mentor for USA Diving.
