The FINA Congress passed several new rule changes earlier this year, including several related to judging. USA Diving’s rules committee and General Assembly voted to incorporate many of those changes into USA Diving’s rules as well. Rules adopted at the General Assembly typically take effect on January 1 of the following year unless specified. The rules committee has voted to implement the new FINA-related judging rules at the upcoming 2017 USA Diving Winter National Championships. The new FINA rules went into effect in September, and there will be FINA certified judges at the Winter Nationals.
