Rosendahl advances to 3-meter final at FINA Grand Prix San Juan

Olivia Rosendahl (Los Angeles, Calif.) finished second in semifinal B to advance to the women’s 3-meter final at the FINA Diving Grand Prix San Juan in Puerto Rico Friday afternoon. The reining NCAA platform champion took her skills to the springboard and finished with 286.20 points, only behind China’s Yiwen Chen who scored 338.20 in the semifinal.

Rosendahl posted two dives of 60 or more points in semifinal B, scoring 63.00 on a back 2½ somersault tuck and 60.90 on a reverse 1½ somersault 2½ twist. Joining Rosendahl and Chen in the final will be Japan’s Rin Kaneto, China’s Xiaohui Huang, Japan’s Hazuki Miyamoto and New Zealand’s Elizabeth Cui. Rosendahl finished third in the preliminary round, scoring 293.50.

Fort Lauderdale Diving Team’s Ryan Hawkins (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and Jordan Windle (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) will be competing tomorrow in the men’s synchronized 10-meter final, beginning at 11:00 a.m. ET. Rosendahl's final is set for Sunday, with the meet starting at 11:00 a.m.
