Olivia Rosendahl places seventh on platform at Canada Cup

                Olivia Rosendahl (Los Angeles/Evanston, Ill.) just missed a spot in the finals as she placed seventh overall on 10-meter at the FINA Grand Prix Canada Cup in Gatineau, Quebec on Friday.
                After placing 10th in the preliminaries, Rosendahl scored 289.45 points for fourth place in semifinal A. In Grand Prix competition, the top 12 divers from the preliminaries advance to one of two semifinals, with the top three from each semi qualifying for finals.
                Rosendahl just missed advancing after finishing 1.55 points behind Laura Marino of France for the third spot into Sunday’s final out of semifinal A. Rosendahl, who won the NCAA title on platform for Northwestern last month, opened the semifinals with 64 points on her back 2 ½ with 1 ½ twists and then scored between 51.20 and 57.60 points on each of her next three dives before closing out her list with 63 points on a reverse 2 ½ tuck.
                Mark Anderson (Lake Forest, Calif./Austin, Texas) finished 21st in the 3-meter preliminary in his first senior international competition in a springboard event. Anderson scored 327.15 points, with his best marks coming on his front 3 ½ pike for 65.10 points.
                The Canada Cup continues through Sunday, April 9. Saturday’s action features USA’s Dashiell Enos (Los Angeles) and Henry Fusaro (Scottsdale, Ariz./Los Angeles) in men’s synchronized 3-meter.
