Laura Wilkinson, Spring, Texas

When Haley is doing the dives before you, is it something you notice?
"It is something I am kind of aware of. I know her dive order, but I am oblivious at the same time. I kind of stayed in my own game tonight."

Do you take energy from a performance like the guys had last night?
"Yes, I did. The guy's show was inspiring. I wanted to dive like that. I didn't know I could do that many."

Do you like the way they combine a cumulative score?
"It does make sense. I think it's important to have a consistent diver."

Can you improve going into the finals?
"There are still some things I can clean up and fix. There is always a challenge there. You want to do it all the time, not just during one dive."

Haley Ishimatsu, Seal Beach, Calif./Indianapolis, Ind.

Have you gotten 10s on a dive before?
"I have before, but I have never had any count towards my score."

What did a 10 feel like as you surfaced?
"It felt good. Then I heard the crowd's reaction and was like, "Yeah, I finally hit that dive."

Troy Dumais, Ventura, Calif./Austin, Texas

Were you surprised by anything tonight?
"I stayed within the competition. Hats off to my coach (Matt Scoggin). We trained well for this event. He does a great job of picking me up when I'm down, and leveling me off when I need it. That's what we have coaches for, and Matt is doing a phenomenal job."

How does it benefit you to have a coach that was a former Olympian?
"It's always nice to have an Olympic coach. That's what separates the good from the great. He can bring in his emotions and feelings. That's one thing Matt has done a great job of. He wants what's best for everyone else. We have never had a better relationship."
