2020 YOG Trials underway in Colorado

2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games Trials underway in Denver

 

(STEVENS POINT, Wis.) – The 2020 U.S. Youth Olympic Team Trials for Curling are off and running in Golden, Colo.

 

Eleven teams are competing to be named Team USA at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games in January in Switzerland. Teams skipped by Connor Kauffman (Lynnwood, Wash.), Coleman Thurston (Poynette, Wis.) and Kevin Tuma (St. Paul, Minn.) are off to a fast start with 2-0 records in Pool A as the round robin got underway this afternoon at the Denver Curling Club.

 

Ethan Hebert (Lowell, Mass.) and Andrea McDonald (Phoenix) also are undefeated at 1-0 in Pool B after picking up opening-day victories. The round robin continues on Friday with three draws of competition at 10 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. MT. Live scores and a live webstream are available at www.usacurl.org.

About the Winter Youth Olympic Games:

 

The 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games (WYOG) will take place Jan. 10-22 in Lausanne, Switzerland, and mark the third time that curling is contested. Twenty-four countries will compete in the mixed curling portion and then 48 teams will battle for medals in mixed doubles at Champéry Curling Arena in Champery, Switzerland.
