Day 3 of Arena Nationals underway in Pennsylvania

2019 Arena National Championships continue in West Chester


(STEVENS POINT, Wis.) – The third day of the 2019 USA Curling Arena National Championships is underway at Ice Line in West Chester, Pa.


Windy City and Curling Club of Houston are the early women’s front runners as they both reached 2-0 records in their respective divisions. Heather Semenuik (Naperville, Ill.) led her Windy City team of Tonya Henderson (Aurora, Ill.), Carol Collins (St. Charles, Ill.), and Kerry Myers (Naperville, Ill.) to an 8-7 win this morning when they scored two points in the eighth end to defeat Juliana Dick-Ford’s Sioux Falls rink.


Katie Feldman’s Wine Country squad finally got to take the ice this morning for their first match of the championship and came out victorious as they scored a point in the final end to take down Bridget O’Grady’s host team from Jersey Pinelands, 6-5. Also this morning in women’s action, Emily Martinelli and her Las Vegas Curling Club teammates evened their record to 1-1 in Pool B with a 7-4 win over Dallas-Fort Worth’s Allison Donaldson rink.


Two men’s games took place this morning at Ice Line as well. David Markowski kept his Wine Country team undefeated as they secured a 9-0 shut out of Ryan Adamson’s Jersey Pinelands rink. Markowski (Vacaville, Calif.) and teammates Camren Spangler (Meadow Vista, Calif.), William Hillman (El Dorado Hills, Calif.), Brian Feldman (Sacramento, Calif.), and David Betts (Roseville, Calif.) are now 2-0 in Pool B. Kansas City’s Nathaniel Percell scored two points in the eighth end to hand Richard Lazarowich’s Silicon Valley rink its first loss of the tournament.


The round robin continues today with three more draws on the schedule at 12 p.m., 4 p.m. and 8 tonight. The pool play continues through Thursday morning followed by the quarterfinals. Live scores and standings are posted at
