USA Curling welcomes new hires

USA Curling welcomes new hires at national office

(STEVENS POINT, Wis.) – The United States Curling Association (USCA) is proud to announce the hiring of Steven O’Keefe (Wausau, Wis.) as the new Growth and Development manager and Amy Wolf (Mosinee, Wis.) as the new bookkeeper/administrative assistant at its national office in Stevens Point, Wis.

O’Keefe steps into the role after longtime employee Kim Nawyn departed the organization after seven years with the USCA. As Growth and Development manager, O’Keefe will be responsible for managing growth and development programs, sport education, the SafeSport program, and other member benefits. This includes providing continued support for ongoing programs and services and developing new ones to meet the needs of organizational membership.

A graduate of Ripon College with a degree in economics, O’Keefe has been very active with the Wausau Curling Club as well as the USCA’s Board of Directors over the years and comes to the USCA with extensive curling knowledge and leadership background.

Wolf, a graduate of Madison Area Technical College with an associate degree in accounting, comes to USA Curling with a variety of experience in the accounting field. She will be responsible for daily accounting entries in the organization’s system for billing, invoicing, and reimbursements. Along with monthly reconciliations of company inventories and supplies, she will assist Ron Rossi, USA Curling’s controller, in a variety of tasks. She also will provide general administrative support to staff, athletes, volunteers, and members.

“These are vital roles in both the day-to-day operations and long-term growth of curling in the United States, so we are very pleased to have two high-caliber people like Steve and Amy joining the national office team,” said Rick Patzke, USA Curling’s Chief Executive Officer. “As the sport continues to grow exponentially in the United States, so do the demands for more and more member and athlete programs and services. Steve and Amy both hit the ground running and are getting rapidly immersed into their new roles.”

The U.S. Curling Association office is headquartered in Stevens Point, Wis., and is the national governing body for the Olympic sport of curling and Paralympic sport of wheelchair curling. The association has seven full-time positions at the Wisconsin office in addition to the High Performance Program staff and controller position. The association has more than 180 member clubs in 43 U.S. states with approximately 25,500 members.
