American teams march into WCT playoffs

The Mark Fenner rink was runner-up at the Mother Club Fall Classic in Winnipeg with a 5-2 record. Fenner (Bemidji, Minn.), who calls the game but throws second, and his team of Tom Howell, Korey Dropkin and Alex Fenson came up a stone short of sending the final against Tanner Lott's team to an extra end on Sunday night.

The Annmarie Dubberstein rink reached the final of the U21 Sapphire Junior Slam in Guelph, Ontario. Dubberstein and teammates Jenna Burchesky, Allison Howell with Susan Dudt filling in for Cora Farrell went 4-1 through the round robin to secure the top playoff seed. In the final, the Gryphon Gold Women got revenge for a round robin loss to Dubberstein with a 7-2 victory to earn the title. 

Andrew Stopera's junior HPP team went 2-3 in the KW Fall Classic as the team finished up a month of competition in Ontario. Stephanie Senneker's rink went 1-3 in the women's division. Two U.S. women's teams also competed in the women's division of the Mother Club Classic. Melissa Runing's team went 2-3 while Kim Rhyme's rink was 1-3.
