2019 Mixed National Championship headed to Denver

(STEVENS POINT, Wis.) – The ever-growing Denver Curling Club is set to welcome 10 teams from across the United States in March for the 2019 USA Curling Mixed National Championship.

“The Denver Curling Club is excited to host the Mixed Nationals during our upcoming fifth year of operation. Having such high caliber competitors visiting our club will be a treat for our members,” said Scott Stevinson. “Most of our membership has taken up the sport in just the past few years so seeing these accomplished curlers should provide some inspiration and encouragement to Denver curlers.”

The Mixed National Championship, which will take place March 23-30, features a regional qualification playdown system to advance 10 teams to the weeklong event. The winning team will become Team USA for the subsequent World Mixed Championship.

The four-sheet club Denver Curling Club, located in Golden, Colo., last hosted the 2016 Mixed Doubles National Championship. The club saw tremendous interest in the sport during the recent Olympic Winter Games. This provided the club with great exposure across the Denver metro area and led to a surge of new participants in both learn-to-curls and spring mini leagues. As a result, and to serve more curlers, the DCC will be adding several spring and summer leagues next season.

USA Curling is sponsored by AtomOS, Nike, Brooms Up Curling Supplies, Cheetos, CryoMAX 8-Hour Cold Pack, Sitrin, The RAM Restaurant & Brewery, Thorne, BalancePlus, ISS (Ice, Sports & Solar), and Brakebush, and is partnered with Laurie Artiss Ltd. – The Pin People, United Airlines, 12th End Sports Network, IHG, and CurlingZone.
