Team USA hits the ice for practice on eve of mixed doubles Olympic debut

(GANGNEUNG, South Korea) – USA’s Becca Hamilton and Matt Hamilton took to the ice today for two practice sessions at the Gangneung Curling Centre as Olympic mixed doubles is set to make its historic debut when the round robin begins tomorrow at the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018.

Matt Hamilton:

“It is exciting just to get on the ice again. We had a couple of days here and it’s just nice to start an event and get the ball rolling and back into the routine. It felt good. No butterflies yet!”

Becca Hamilton:

“We were excited to get back on the ice, we took a couple of days off which is definitely not par for the course for us right now, as we’ve been curling every day. Just to get back on the ice and throw some rocks and match them and get back in our comfort zone, was really, really great.”

The team took part in a pre-event press conference on Tuesday at the Main Press Center and will be available after each game in the mixed zone only.
