American teams off to solid start to competitive season

Three U.S. teams made the playoffs as the American teams began their competitive seasons. The John Shuster and Cory Christensen rinks both advanced to the playoff round at the Goldline Icebreaker in Winnipeg with Shuster's team finishing second and Christensen's rink making a semifinal appearance.

The American mixed doubles team of Sarah Anderson and Korey Dropkin secured the bronze medal at the Audi Quattro Winter Games in New Zealand and a 5-2 record overall.
