The United States Olympic Committee offers tuition assistance and legacy grants to qualifying top active athletes, retired athletes, and on occasion, coaches, enrolled in an accredited degree- or certificate-granting program at an academic institution of higher learning. USOC Tuition Grants cover tuition and mandatory fees only, and do not cover books, room and board charges, or parking fees. Tuition grant applications are accepted three times a year. Legacy Grants can be used for tuition, fees, books, room and board, as well as expenses associated with on-line courses. The USOC 2002 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Legacy Scholarship is intended to provide assistance with academic costs to: 1) 2002 Olympians/Paralympians who are attending school, and 2) current athletes who are training and going to school in the state of Utah.
