“Ring Masters Championships: Road to the Garden” Tournament Day 2 at the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle

USA Boxing, Metro (“Metro”) continued the 2023 Ring Masters Championships: Road to the Garden in the city of New Rochelle courtesy of the Champs Boxing Club and the Boys & Girls Club.

Boxing fans experienced some of the best amateur grassroots-level boxing in the Senior Novice Male 147lbs & 165lbs divisions who competed in front of a capacity crowd at the Boys & Girls Club.  Attached is the bout sheet with results and outstanding performances qualifying for accolades from our participating sponsors.

Sioux City fighter eyeing national qualifier, dreams of a spot on the USA Olympic boxing team

SIOUX CITY -- It's easy to see why Zeke Castro was given the nickname "Lightning."

More significantly, he will also be one of the more than 1,000 boxers, ages 8 - 40, competing in the USA Boxing National Qualifier, March 18 - 25, in Detroit.

"The National Qualifier is the first step towards a possible spot on the U.S.A. Olympic Team Trials for boxers," Castro, who is slated to graduate from North High School in May, explained. "Being in the Olympics has always been a dream of mine."

Hunter Johnson on his way to national boxing competition

FAIRFIELD, Maine (WABI) - Hunter Johnson is taking his training from Fairfield’s Rolfe Boxing to the Silver Gloves Nationals event for USA Boxing.

Johnson’s regional championship in early December set him up for this chance to compete nationally from Thursday-Saturday in Independence, Mo.

He’s been training for less than a year, but he’s got plenty of people in his corner helping him move his way up through the super-heavyweight ranks.

Laredo's Garcia, Lozano earn prestigious spots on USA Boxing team

After never having an Olympic athlete in the history of the city, Laredo got another step closer this weekend to having a pair of qualifiers for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris as boxers Emilio Garcia and Jennifer Lozano were announced by USA Boxing as members of the 2023 High Performance Team.

The USA Boxing High Performance team features the top boxers representing the country, and they are the ones in the best position to qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics. The team features 13 total members, and 11 boxers were announced Friday evening with four more set to compete for the final two spots.
