USA Boxing’s European Tour comes to an end on final day of 2023 Grand Prix

USA Boxing closed out their month-long European tour today with the championship bouts at the 2023 Grand Prix in Usti lan, Czechia with two golds and two silvers to add to the four bronze medals earned yesterday, bringing their medal total to 17 medals between their two competitions. A complete list of medalists from the two events can be seen below. 

Featherweight Jahmal Harvey (Oxon Hill, Md.) grabbed the first gold medal of the day for Team USA with a dominate performance over Ukraine’s Oleh Chuliacheivev to take the unanimous decision and gold medal, while Omari Jones (Orlando, Fla.) once again ended at the top of the podium with his victory over Milos Bartil of Czechia to be the only American to win two golds during the team’s European tour. 

Morelle McCane
(Cleveland, Ohio) and Alyssa Mendoza (Caldwell, Idaho) saw their tournament conclude with silver medals around their necks, their second medal of the European tour.

The tournament, which included over 200 boxers from 18 different countries, concludes the busy month for Team USA, as the team continues to prepare for the 2023 Pan American Games, the first Olympic Games Qualifier, later this year.
