USA Boxing announced today that Héctor Colón was voted the USA Boxing Board of Directors Vice President following the latest Board of Directors meeting.
“I am so humbled and honored to serve as Vice President on a board for a sport that played a major positive influence in my life,” stated Colón. “In my new role, working with board president, Tyson Lee, directors and staff, I look forward to offering my talents and convictions to help create champions in and out of the ring.”
“Héctor has been a great addition to our Board of Directors this last year,” said Mike McAtee, USA Boxing Executive Director. “We look forward to seeing him grow in his role and continue to help accomplish the mission of USA Boxing and impacting the lives of our 40,000+ members.”
Colón, who currently serves as the president and CEO of Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, joined the USA Boxing Board of Directors in March 2019. The sport of boxing has been part of Colón for numerous years, as he won seven national titles and competed in the 1992 Olympic Trials during his boxing career.
