USA Boxing put on a dominating and impressive performance on the second day of boxing at the 2019 Silesian Women’s Championships in Gliwice, Poland to go 6-0 for the day.

Two-time Junior Open Champion Kayla Gomez (El Paso, Texas) started the day off for the Americans by causing the referee to stop her bout in the first round against Poland’s Julia Bulawska, while flyweight Priscilla Medina (Los Angeles, Calif.) took her own RSC victory in the third round over Olimpia Konczalska of Poland. Gomez’s win advances her to the pineweight championship bout later this week, while Medina advanced to the flyweight semifinal.

Bantamweight Sierra Martinez (North Providen, R.I.) continued Team USA’s impressive performance, giving opponent Niola Prymacneko of Poland multiple eight counts before taking the unanimous decision win to advance to her semifinal bout.

Ruby Navarro (Mission, Texas) and Kaheil Mishoe-Elliott (Plainfield, N.J.) took all five judges cards over their opponents, Julianna Rutkowska and Dagmara Kaliszan of Poland, respectively. Navarro will return to action in tomorrow’s lightweight semifinal bout, while Elliott advanced to her finals later this week.

Flyweight Shera Mae Patricio (Waianaea, Hawaii) was the lone youth boxer to step into the ring today. She closed out the day for the Americans with another unanimous decision win. Her victory over Dominika Vital of Hungary places her in the finale of her division.

USA Boxing will return to action tomorrow, with Nashay Bradford (Toledo, Ohio), Jasmin Fernandez (Splendora, Texas), Navarro and Reina Tellez (San Antonio, Texas) taking to the ring.
