Junior and Youth Female High Performance Team Depart Today for Poland

Following 10 intense days of training at the United States Olympic & Paralympic Training Center (USOPTC), the 14 boxers that will represent Team USA at the 14th annual Silesian Women’s Championships departed today from Colorado Springs for Gliwice, Poland. A full tournament roster can be seen below.

The young American team will be guided throughout the tournament by USA Boxing National Junior and Youth Head Coach Augie Sanchez (Las Vegas, Nev.), as well as assistant coaches Alexander Duque (New York, N.Y.), Edward Ochoa Jr. (Gilbert, Ariz.), Nora Trujillo (Richmond, Texas) and Chadrick Wigle (Colorado Springs, Colo.).

13 boxers will be making their international debut for USA Boxing, while 2018 Youth World Champion Iyana Verduzco (Los Angeles, Calif.) will look to earn her third international gold medal of her impressive youth career. This also marks the first international tournament for our Junior National Team since the 2015 Junior and Youth Women’s World Championships.
