First PAL National Champions Crowned in Oxnard

13 champions were crowned today in the noon session at the Oxnard PAL Teen Center in Oxnard, Calif. to highlight the fourth day of boxing action.

The first session of the day also featured four semifinal bouts to determine the final four boxers that will join the remaining 30 boxers in the National PAL Championship finale in tomorrow’s 12:00 p.m. PT session. The day also saw 14 elite female boxers’ journey to the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Boxing continue.

The second session of the day was full of exciting and action-packed bouts, that including two championship bouts for non-Olympic women’s weight classes. 52 boxers advanced to the next round to join the 14 females from earlier in the day.

Boxing will continue tomorrow with another two sessions, with the elite bouts taking place in the 6:00 p.m. PT session. This week’s event is serving as the final qualifier to this December’s Trials in Lake Charles, La. 26 elite boxers will punch their ticket to the tournament by the end of the week.
