2019 Elite Men's World Championships Preparation Begins This Weekend

Preparation for the 8 boxers that will represent Team USA at the 2019 Elite Men’s World Championships in Yekaterinburg, Russia begin this weekend at the United States Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. 

Under the guidance of USA Boxing National Head Coach Billy Walsh (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and National Assistant Coach Kay Koroma (Colorado Springs, Colo.), along with Joe Guzman (Fountain, Colo.) and Tim Back (Cincinnati, Ohio), the team, along with 9 training partners and the 5 women that represented USA Boxing at the recent Pan American Games, will complete multiple training sessions until departing for a multination camp in England on Aug. 21.

Team USA is bringing in a mix of current high performance members, as well as professional boxers, including 2016 Olympic bronze medalists Nico Hernandez (Wichita, Kansas) and 2012 Olympian Terrell Gausha (Encino, Calif.) to prepare for these championships, which take place Sept. 7-21.
