Team USA Goes 9-3 Over Weekend at 2019 Pan American Games Qualifier

Team USA had an impressive 9-3 weekend in Managua, Nicaragua at the 2019 Pan American Games Qualifier.

Ohio duo Oshae Jones (Toledo, Ohio) and Delante Johnson (Cleveland, Ohio) picked up a pair of wins to advance to their respective semifinal bouts, as well as punch their ticket to the 2019 Pan American Games this summer in Lima, Peru.

Guaranteed to join Johnson and Jones in Peru are lightweight Rashida Ellis (Lynn, Mass.), flyweight Virginia Fuchs (Houston, Texas) and middleweight Naomi Graham (Colorado Springs, Colo.) following dominating performances in today’s quarterfinal bouts. All three boxers will return to action in tomorrow’s semifinal bouts.

The quarterfinal bouts will feature Keyshawn Davis (Norfolk, Va.), Troy Isley (Alexandria, Va.), Duke Ragan (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Richard Torrez Jr. (Tulare, Calif.), who will be making his tournament debut following a bye in the preliminaries. Wins in tomorrow’s bouts will punch their ticket to Lima this summer.
