Davis and Ramirez Advance at Pan American Games Qualifiers

Keyshawn Davis (Norfolk, Va.) and Yarisel Ramirez (Las Vegas, Nev.) picked up victories on the second day of preliminaries at the 2019 Pan American Games Qualifiers in Managua, Nicaragua.

Davis picked up the first win of the day for Team USA by taking all five judges cards over second ranked John Gutierrez of Columbia. Teammate Ramirez won a 4-1 decision in her tournament debut over Maria Antunez of Honduras to move onto the quarterfinals.

Two other Americans stepped into the ring this evening, Michael Angeletti (Spring, Texas) and Adrian Tillman (Colorado Springs, Colo.), with both falling short in heart breaking split decision losses to end their tournament.

Team USA will be back in the ring tomorrow with six boxers taking to the ring.
