2018 Boxing Day In America to Take Place Saturday

Oct. 31, 2018, 11:45 a.m. (ET)

After two successful pilot programs, the 2018 Boxing Day in America will take place this Saturday, Nov. 3 in six different Local Boxing Committees (LBCs): Gulf, Hawaii, New Jersey, Potomac Valley, Southeastern and Wyoming.

Each LBC will host their own Boxing Day in America: Sparring Expo, which will consist of a variety of things, depending on each LBC, such as public sparring sessions, coaching and officials certification clinics, opportunities to complete early registration and get new athlete passbooks for new members. “Boxing Day is an opportunity to showcase boxing to new audiences, while providing much-needed skill-building and networking opportunities to new and current members,” explained Christy Halbert, Boxing Day in America creator. “It’s designed as a low-stress training event for boxers to get work in front of friends and family.”

Boxers, coaches and officials from neighboring LBCs are invited to participate, however, all participants must show proof of USA Boxing membership.
