Bantamweight Duke Ragan (Cincinnati, Ohio) closed out his run at the 2018 President’s Cup in Astana, Kazakhstan with a silver medal.

The 2017 World Championship silver medalist fell short in a heart breaking decision against Kazakhstan’s Kairat Yeraliyev. The bout was a rematch of the 2017 World Championships finale, where Yeraliyev won by a 3-2 decision.

Ragan’s silver medal was the lone medal for the American delegation, which brought a team of a seven boxers. The team was under the guidance of USA Boxing head coach Billy Walsh (Colorado Springs, Colo.), with Marc Gargaro (Newton, Mass.) and Joe Guzman (Fountain, Colo.) serving as assistant coaches.

The team will begin their journey back to the United States tomorrow.
