The intense five days of competition at the 34h annual Feliks Stamm Tournament in Warsaw, Poland has come to an end as Team USA boxers are coming home with a total of three medals, one gold, one silver and one bronze.

Virginia Fuchs (Kemah, Texas) added another gold medal to the one she won earlier this year at the Strandja Tournament in Bulgaria. Fuchs took her fourth unanimous decision victory of the tournament to take the flyweight title over Busenaz Cakiroglu of Turkey.

Featherweight Wendy Casey’s (Buffalo, N.Y.) impressive international tournament debut came to an end with a silver medal. Casey put up a tough fight against Azerbaijan’s Anna Alimarda, but could not hold her off to take the judges card.

The third medal was secured by Mikaela Mayer (Los Angeles, Calif.) in yesterday’s semifinal round. The fourth member of Team USA was middleweight Oshae Jones (Toledo, Ohio). The four boxers will return to the United States tomorrow, where they will begin training camp for June’s Continental Championships in Tegucigalpa, Hondouras.
