2017 Junior Olympics, Prep Nationals and Youth Open Concludes in West Virginia

The 2017 Junior Olympic, Prep Nationals and Youth Open begin the week with boxers ranging in age eight to 18 looking for the coveted title. After four intense days of competition, the event concluded on Saturday afternoon with the final 25 bouts.

The junior and youth male divisions had all eyes on them as they entered the two rings at the Charleston Civic Center. Numerous members of the current and past Junior and Youth National Teams highlighted the action packed session.

Members of the current Junior and Youth National Teams that competed this week in Charleston, will leave straight from this tournament for a week-long training camp at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. 

Points were awarded to the regions for gold, silver and bronze to finalize region placements. Region 6 walked away with the most points, 135, followed by Region 2 with 119 points and Region 1 with 85 points. The totals were calculated for only the bantam, intermediate and junior divisions.
