Letter from USA Boxing Executive Mike McAtee on USA Boxing Alumni Support of Giving Games

By USA Boxing | July 28, 2020, 3:07 p.m. (ET)

USA Boxing Alumni Members,

As many of you know, these times have been extremely difficult for all, inside and outside the ring.

USA Boxing announced last week our involvement in the Giving Games, which kicked off Friday and will run until August 9. The Giving Games is a fundraising initiative that includes over 20 different National Governing Bodies to help raise funds for their respective sports.

The current COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on our sport, including the postponement of the Tokyo Games, as well as cancelling or pushing back numerous local, regional and national events.

This impact will be felt for many years, and now is the chance for the Alumni Association to do what it was created to do, support and give back to our grassroots programs.

USA Boxing is using the Giving Games to fund and kickstart a grant program that would allow USA Boxing registered clubs to be given support during these difficult times, therefore we need our USA Boxing Alumni’s help!

Your donations, no matter how big or how small, can make a difference in the lives of our grassroots boxers and the gyms they train in, as well as help inspire the next generation of champions.

Donations can be directly made by clicking here.

In your corner,

Mike McAtee

USA Boxing Executive Director
