George Foreman, 1968 Olympic Champion, was inducted into the 2nd Annual Houston Sports Hall of Fame on February 6.

Held at the Hilton Americas, the event honored local professional, college and high school athletes who have not only succeeded in their sport, but also have given a great deal back to their community.

Introduced by his good friend, Calvin Murphy, Foreman accepted his induction with grace and poise, stating that one of his proudest moments was winning the gold medal at the 1968 Mexico City Olympic Games.

Joining Foreman in this year’s class were Pro Golfer Jack Burk, Jr., four-time Indianapolis 500 winner A.J. Foyt and former Houston Oilers Quarterback Dan Pastroini.

Congratulations, George!
