Today’s bobsled and skeleton selection races canceled

Lake Placid, N.Y. (November 19, 2020)- USA Bobsled/Skeleton (USABS) national team selection races that were scheduled for today at Mount Van Hoevenberg have been canceled due to a minor track malfunction. The decision was made out of an abundance of caution, and track management hopes the issue can be resolved before tomorrow’s scheduled races.

“Everyone at the Olympic Regional Development Authority has been all hands on deck to do whatever is necessary to get our athletes on the track this season,” said USABS CEO Aron McGuire. “We appreciate everyone’s efforts, and we know some things are out of their control. If we’ve learned anything this year, it’s how to adapt and find solutions. The athletes have been able to roll with it, and they’ve been flexible and patient, even though they are eager to start racing.”

An updated team selection race schedule will be provided tomorrow.
