USA Bobsled National Team named for 2019-2020 season

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (Nov. 21, 2019)The USA Bobsled National Team for the 2019-2020 season was named tonight following the conclusion of a series of trials races.

Six athletes were named to the women’s team. Brittany Reinbolt (Searcy, Ark.) earned her spot at the helm of USA 1 with her USA Bobsled National Championship win in March 2019. Kaillie Humphries (Carlsbad, Calif.), who hails from Calgary, Canada, won trials and will start the season as USA 2, and Kristi Koplin (Park City, Utah) will pilot USA 3.

The three push athletes named to the women’s team are, in alphabetical order: Lauren Gibbs (Los Angeles, Calif.), Sylvia Hoffman (Arlington, Texas), and Jazmine Jones (Pittsburgh, Pa.). 

The men’s team consists of 12 athletes. The three pilots named to the team are Codie Bascue (Whitehall, N.Y.), who also earned his spot from his USA Bobsled National Championship win, is USA 1. Hunter Church (Cadyville, N.Y.) finished trials as the top ranked pilot to earn USA 2, and Geoff Gadbois (Milton, Vt.) will drive USA 3.

The nine push athletes named to the men’s team are, in alphabetical order: Adrian Adams (Reidsville, N.C.), Chris Avery (San Diego, Calif.), Michael Fogt (Alpine, Utah), Kris Horn (Pembroke, Mass.), Dakota Lynch (Boise, Idaho), Blaine McConnell (Tacoma, Wash.), Jimmy Reed (Garmisch, Germany), Kyle Wilcox (Tampa, Fla.) and Josh Williamson (Lake Mary, Fla.).

The World Cup kicks off in Lake Placid with races Dec. 7-8 and Dec. 13-15. The tour will make stops in the following locations: Winterberg, Germany; La Plagne, France; Innsbruck, Igls; Koenigssee, Germany; St. Moritz, Switzlerland; Sigulda, Latvia. The season will conclude with 2020 World Championships in Altenberg, Germany.
