LAKE PLACID, N.Y.(March 25, 2019)– Christ Rasmussen (Battle Creek, Mich.) and Steven Jacobo (Gardnerville, Nev.) have been selected to represent the U.S. in the 2019 Para Sport World Championships, which will take place this weekend in Lake Placid, N.Y.

“These athletes are pioneers in the para sport program, and we’re looking forward to seeing what unfolds this week in the competition,” said USA Bobsled & Skeleton CEO Darrin Steele. “The Olympic Regional Development Authority does an excellent job hosting events. It’s exciting to have the fourth para sport world championships on home ice in Lake Placid.”

The event will be held over two days from Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31. The winner with the lowest four-run combined time will be declared the winner.

Rasmussen has had a successful season on the Para Sport World Cup tour, claiming three bronze medals to finish eighth in overall rank. Jacobo finished the season ranked 10th overall, and he tied Rasmussen for bronze in an early season World Cup.
